| Park Clean Up Day | |
| Location: | Mallard Pointe Park |
| Time: | 8am |
| Description: | Mallard Pointe Residents,
Come One! Come All! Our Park Clean Up Day is Saturday 24 October at 8:00. Save the date!
We have quite a few things to get done on our Clean Up Day so please make plans to come down to help. The more neighbors we have helping, the quicker we will get done.
Following are some of the things we need help in accomplishing:
Shoreline and park clean up: Downed branches, low branches/tree trimming and shoreline cleanup. Please show with your work gloves, if you have a UTV/ATV/utility trailer, tools for tree trimming, pole saw, loppers, chain saw please bring them, these items will really come in handy. We have some dead trees in Wigeon park and already have some volunteers to cut those down however, we need to clean up the shoreline and any dead lying branches there also.
Wiring/Rewiring trees to prevent damage from Nutra Rat: I am no expert on this, however I have noticed some new damage on a tree below the wire. Some of the trees have out grown the current wire mesh and it is too tight, some is falling off and some have no wire at all. I will have the mesh available and the wire to secure it. If you are knowledgeable in this please show up to lead the effort.
Dirt Work: There are a lot of low areas in the park that require fill dirt. We will be getting fill dirt delivered and my husband will be bringing his tractor with a bucket to get the fill dirt to the low lying areas. It is a small tractor with small bucket so, if anyone else has a tractor with a bucket or box blade please bring it, the process will go faster and that will minimize the finish handwork to be done. Will need some volunteers with rakes/shovels.
Flagging for ant hills: We have a contract for ant treatment. I will bring marker flags so that as we do clean up if we notice any ant hills we can mark them and I will have the company come out and treat those areas.
Have fun working together: Hope you will all come down and help out. I know this sounds like a lot to get done in one day, and this is because it is! So please, the more we have come help, the quicker it will get done. If you are not physically able to work, please come down for moral support and to meet and visit with your neighbors.
Our spring cleanup was canceled due to COVID concerns, we decided to go forward with the fall clean up because it really needs it and feel we can social distance outdoors. You need to decide what you are comfortable with, completely understand that some may not be comfortable participating.
The dumpster will be delivered on Friday. Please refrain from using the dumpster until our Park Clean up is complete. After park clean up is complete all residents are welcome to use it and we will have it available through 2 Nov. This is for your yard clippings, tree trimmings etc., not for old furniture, no tires, chemicals, pallets etc. Please cut your yard trimmings small enough that more will fit in the dumpster and do not overfill or they will not pick it up as they have to drive down the road with it.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
